Privacy policy

Local assistant · last updated October 18, 2026

Local assistant is a personal app run by its owner on their own computer, for their own use. It is not offered to the public. This policy explains what it does with Google account data.

What it accesses

When the owner signs in with Google, the app asks for read-only access to Gmail (gmail.readonly) and Google Calendar (calendar.readonly). It reads messages and calendar events only when the owner asks a question that needs them. It cannot send, change or delete email or events.

Where the data goes

Data from Google is processed on the owner's own computer by software they run there, including a language model running locally. It is not sold, shared with anyone, used for advertising, or used to train AI models. The sign-in token is stored on that computer only. Parts of messages or events may appear in the owner's own chat history on that computer.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Local assistant's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing access

Access can be removed at any time from Google Account → Security → Third-party apps & services. Deleting the stored token on the computer also ends access.
